Cracker Barrel's Grilled Chicken Tenderloin

I am extremely picky when it comes to eating grilled chicken at a restaurant.  It is usually always bland and boring unless they top it with something that increases the calorie count to an astronomical level (which  defeats the purpose of getting grilled chicken in the first place).  The ONLY plain grilled chicken that I like is at Cracker Barrel.  I googled the recipe and found several sites that have a copycat recipe.  I made it last night for dinner and it was perfect.  It is so yummy!!!  Here is the recipe and the link to the site where I found it.

Cracker Barrel's Grilled Chicken Tenderloin

Ingredients:
1 pound of Chicken breast Tenders
1/2 cup of Italian Dressing (drain spices and discard)
1 teaspoon of fresh lime juice
1  and 1/2 teaspoons of  honey

Directions:
Mix all liquid ingredients together .  Pour over chicken tenders and let them marinate in the refrigerator for 1 hour.  Grill the tenders until done and they have a light golden color.  Don't overcook or else they will be dry.  Serves 2.

Here is the link to the recipe I used:

  1. I made your chicken tonight, and it has a really good taste! How did you cook yours? Did you grill it outside? We're in an apartment, of course, so I tried to do mine on the grill side of my stove-top griddle, and I never seem to have much luck with that. I rubbed it good with olive oil, but the chicken still stuck, and I ended up finishing cooking it in a skillet w/ a little marinade. I'd like to try it with real outside grilling, but, still, it was great flavor, and Brad and I both really liked it.

  2. I have done it with an indoor grill and on the grill outside. I sprayed it with some cooking spray first and I didn't have trouble with it sticking. They have some high heat cooking spray that is made for grilling. It does a great job. I am so glad you liked it.
